History

Since 1881, the American Association of University Women has worked for equity for girls and women though advocacy, research, and education. In that year, Marion Talbot called a meeting of 17 women with a unique purpose: to support one another and future generations of women in higher education.

The Arkansas Division of the AAUW first met in 1923, with delegates from Fayetteville as well as Little Rock and Hot Springs.

2010-2011 AAUW Officers

Congratulations to our 2010-2011 officers: Felisha Harper Perrodin, President; Heather Schneller, Programs Vice President; Shawna Thorup and Emily Ironside, Membership Co-Vice Presidents; Susan Graham, Treasurer; and Christine Soutter, Secretary. They will assume duties July 1. A sincere thanks to Robin Coggins, Diana Gonzales Worthen, Sharon Phelps, and others who have served in the past. We look forward to this new year!
