AAUW takes the lead on policy recommendations in response to the groundbreaking insights published in "The Shriver Report--A Woman's Nation Changes Everything." Government policies & laws continue to rely on an outdated model of the American family. Even though women becoming primary breadwinners or co-breadwinners has changed everything from education, health care and the work place, our policy landscape and institutional cultures remain stuck in an idealized past.
